A week after Louisville City FC knocked off Western Conference-leading New Mexico United, the boys in purple will start a similar squad when the West’s second-place club comes to town.
There’s just one change to coach Danny Cruz’s lineup for a 9 p.m. kickoff against Sacramento Republic FC as Jake Morris slots in at left wingback for Amadou Dia.
Morris gets the start opposite of Aiden McFadden. The group flanks a LouCity back line of captain Kyle Adams, Arturo Ordóñez and Sean Totsch.
Behind that group is goalkeeper Damian Las, who last weekend put up a four-save performance to secure a clean sheet.
Taylor Davila and Elijah Wynder make up City’s midfield pairing. Wilson Harris, Ray Serrano and Jansen Wilson, who scored the deciding goal in last weekend’s 1-0 away victory, are Cruz’s front line.
Notable on the bench is forward Adrien Perez. He’s available for a league game for the first time since exiting LouCity’s June 8 win over Orange County SC due to injury. The 28-year-old did make a recent comeback to log minutes in a July 30 international friendly against Eintracht Frankfurt.
LouCity-Sacramento will feature on ESPN2 from Lynn Family Stadium with radio coverage also on ESPN Louisville’s AM 680/FM 105.7.
