Speaking of a soccer-specific stadium for Louisville City FC, club chairman John Neace said Thursday, “I think anybody who thought it was going to be done overnight was really caught up in the zeal of a new team and not the reality.”
Heading into year three of the franchise, however, Neace said club leadership is readying to move forward with a plan, going as far as to tell WAVE3 News that renderings are in the works.
It’s a stadium that could propel LouCity into the conversation for Major League Soccer expansion. In the short term, after back-to-back appearances in the USL Eastern Conference Final, Neace told WAVE reporter William Joy, “We need to win two more games” to take a championship. “We’re going to do that one year soon.”
