Diana Bernard’s 30-year-old son, Steven, suffers from a degenerative eye disease that has left him legally blind. And the condition isn’t expected to improve.
With his sight still in tact, Steven visited Louisville City FC’s locker room last week. He met with players Tim Dobrowolski and Sean Reynolds, who offered Steven one of his 2016 jerseys. He also spoke with coaches James O’Connor and Daniel Byrd.
“Steven is a huge soccer fan and he and his family have been to several Louisville City FC games, which he greatly enjoyed,” Diana said before the visit. “As his mom, I want him to have experiences that he can carry with him forever – whatever the future will bring.”
Steven, thank you for the support — and we hope you enjoyed the experience.
