LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville City FC announced its commitment to the development and growth of the game on Wednesday via its new partnership with Georgetown FC — a locally based competitive youth soccer organization.
Per Club policy, the financial details of the agreement are not disclosed.
“By partnering with Louisville City FC,” GFC president Chris Calulot said, “our club is excited for the opportunities for our players, coaches, and families to interact with a professional soccer club, it’s coaches, and it’s players so that we may all help to grow the sport in our area.”
Georgetown FC is Georgetown and Scott County’s youth soccer league. GFC offers recreational leagues and select teams that travel to compete with other clubs, teams and organizations within Kentuckiana. Winning is not, in fact, everything. We have higher goals for the development of youth soccer in Georgetown.
“At Georgetown FC, we share the same goals of Louisville City FC,” Calulot said. “Our goals are to teach this Beautiful Game to the youth of our community by focusing on development of the player, growth of the squad, building the club, and enjoying the game through character and skill development with the mindset of playing like a champion.”
GFC is Scott County’s only club associated with Kentucky Youth Soccer Association (KYSA), U.S. Youth Soccer, and the United States Soccer Federation and is sponsored by Georgetown Parks & Recreation.
Louisville City FC will return to action April 16 with a visit to USL-expansion side FC Cincinnati (7 p.m | WATCH). LouCity returns to Slugger Field on April 27 to host Pittsburgh Riverhounds (7:30 p.m. | TICKETS).
