LOUISVILLE, Ky — Louisville City FC is closing in on the start of their second season in the USL with a March 26 opener on the road versus Charlotte and a home opener on April 2 against New York Red Bulls II. To fuel the hysteria for the team’s second season, a family-friendly kickoff party will be hosted by the Club’s partner, Baptist Health Sports Medicine.

The event is open to the community at Baptist Health Eastpoint, 2400 Eastpoint Parkway, from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 11. Guests will have an opportunity to mingle with the professional soccer players, get autographs and take group photos in the free photo booth provided by Meghan Hochgesang Photography. In addition, there will be a mobile gaming truck, foosball, and mini games with great prizes such as Louisville City FC apparel, ticket vouchers and one month free training with a Baptist Health Sports Medicine athletic trainer. Door prizes will also be given out.
Guests can take a break from the action and grab a bite provided by Salsarita’s, Hometown Pizza and Buffalo Wild Wings. Gigi’s Cupcakes will be on hand to satisfy that sweet tooth. Account executives from the Club will also be available for ticket and apparel purchases.

“The inaugural season for Louisville City FC was a tremendous success both on and off the field,” said Nick Sarantis, Sports Medicine operations manager. “As we approach the start of season two, the buzz and excitement in Kentuckiana continues to grow. Being able to host the annual kickoff event allows our friends, families, and the community a chance to meet and interact with the team, visit Baptist Health Eastpoint and enjoy an evening of fun and celebration.”
Louisville City FC competes in the USL. Games will continue to be played at Louisville Slugger Field, which transforms into a turf field, with the pitchers’ mound retracting into the ground.
Louisville City FC Defeats SIUE 4-0
The team will play about 30 matches during its regular season, which runs from March through September. Baptist Health Sports Medicine will provide the team with its comprehensive, multidisciplinary services, including dedicated team physicians, sports performance, athletic training and physical therapy in the upcoming season.
