LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Scoppechio Advertising, Kentucky’s largest advertising agency, has been named agency of record for Louisville City Football Club, the city’s highest-level professional soccer team playing in the United Soccer League.
With the Club’s overwhelming success in its historic inaugural season and its push toward its highest ambitions in the domestic professional landscape, Scoppechio will support LouCity FC with a variety of services.
“Partnering with Scoppechio is another step we are taking to continue the club’s growth,” Louisville City FC president Amanda Duffy said. “Through Scoppechio, the region’s premier brand activation agency, we are confident we will deliver content and community engagement that continues to develop our brand, and uniquely represents the Louisville community on local and national scale.”
Scoppechio will support Louisville City FC in its ongoing outreach and engagement activities, including creative content development and production, media merchandising and multicultural initiatives.
“We absolutely believe in the appropriateness of this partnership,” said Jerry Preyss, CEO at Scoppechio. “Our agency has a genuine passion for soccer and the team in particular. And even more important, we believe in the marketing potential for the LouCity brand.
“They put a great product on the pitch every game that represents a wonderful entertainment value for families and fans of the sport. Our hope is to help the club continue its extraordinary growth in every way possible. We believe bringing a MLS franchise to Louisville one day is a real possibility and we’re excited to be on the team to make that happen.”
Upon joining USL in 2015, Louisville City achieved historic heights on and off the field. The team featured the league’s Most Valuable Player and record-setting leading scorer, Defender of the Year, Goal of the Season and advanced to the Eastern Conference Final – just a game away from the national championship.
After ranking second in the league in season ticket sales and average attendance, the City of Louisville and the Mayor’s office announced the hiring of a consultant to explore the feasibility of developing and constructing a soccer-specific stadium in a distinct push toward expanding into Major League Soccer.
The Club has made clear its expectation for success in 2016 as well, returning 15 players from 2015’s roster. Coach James O’Connor and his technical staff are also returning for year two.
“Putting a championship caliber team on the field is our focus,” Duffy said. “With the players returning and those new to the roster the lineup will be strong and 2016 should be another special year for our fans and partners.”

On Friday, January 8, Metro Government announced that a private study was being done to look at the feasibility of building a soccer specific stadium. If it were not for this group of business leaders, Louisville City FC would not exist.
Estopinal raised $3 million to bring the franchise to Louisville, founded the team, and continues to have an ownership stake in Louisville City FC. Mountjoy directed an LLC made up of private investors that includes Gill Holland, Matthew Barzun, and Peritus Founder and Principal Tim Mulloy that funds Louisville City.
