2023: Mushagalusa, who returned for a second season in purple, scored two goals in 15 USL Championship appearances before a midseason loan announced July 26 sent him to the Western Conference’s San Diego Loyal SC for the remainder of the campaign.
Last Season: Mushagalusa contributed a career-high 10 goals and 3 assists to the club in the 2022 season.
Highlights in purple: The forward registered his first-ever hat trick in a 6-0 rout of New York Red Bulls II on July 16. He became the fourth LouCity player to accomplish that feat joining Matt Fondy, Chandler Hoffman and Cameron Lancaster.
Before Louisville City: Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mushagalusa was raised in Denver, where he came up through the Colorado Rapids’ academy program. Mushagalusa poured in 53 goals across 85 U.S. Soccer Development Academy appearances from his U-15 through U-19 seasons before receiving a trial with the Rapids’ Major League Soccer side. With an option to play at NCAA Division I South Carolina, Mushagalusa instead went on to sign with Sporting KC II ahead of the 2020 USL Championship season and begin his pro career. He made eight appearances in 2020 as a rookie.
