With a full week of rest and preparation, Louisville City FC interim head coach Simon Bird has chosen to make five changes to his starting lineup for Saturday’s rivalry game against Indy Eleven.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET at Michael A. Carroll Stadium in Indianapolis. The game will air locally in Louisville on MyTV 58 and ESPN Louisville’s 680 AM and 105.7 FM. For streaming, log on to WDRB+ or ESPN+.
Forward Chris Donovan, midfielder Taylor Davila, defenders Kyle Adams and Sean Totsch, and goalkeeper Danny Faundez all come in to the starting lineup for the game.
Donovan starts at center forward. Saturday will be his 16th league start of the year and 19th overall. He has scored eight goals and registered five assists, including five goals and four assists in league play.
He starts alongside wingers Ray Serrano and Quenzi Huerman in the attack. That duo made the USL Championship Team of the Week, after Serrano scored twice and Huerman tallied two assists in last week’s 3-2 win at Orange County SC.
Taylor Davila replaces his younger brother, Evan, in the midfield. The elder Davila leads LouCity with seven assists in all competitions, including six in league play.
Zach Duncan will start alongside Davila in the midfield. Duncan drew three fouls in last week’s win against Orange County, most for LouCity.
The reworked backline sees team captain Kyle Adams and 10-year LouCity veteran Sean Totsch start alongside 17-year-old LouCity Academy product Brandon Dayes in a back three. The trio has combined for 46 league starts this season.
Jake Morris and Aiden McFadden will play as wingbacks, on the left and right, respectively. Both players started last week, with Morris remaining at left wingback while McFadden shifts from center back, where he filled in against Orange County.
Danny Faundez returns for his 13th start in goal, in all competitions. Faundez leads LouCity with 33 saves, including 21 in league play on 33 shots faced.
Amadou Dia, Sam Gleadle, Evan Davila and Tola Showunmi — all dropped from last week’s starting lineup — are available on the bench. Hugo Fauroux, who had made five consecutive starts in goal, is unavailable due to injury. Ryan Troutman will serve as backup goalkeeper Saturday.
Leading scorer Jansen Wilson, who has notched a team-high 12 goals, including seven in the league, is available off the bench as well. Manny Perez, Mukwelle Akale and Cooper Conley round out the available players.
