Zach Duncan is one of two changes interim head coach Simon Bird has elected to make to Louisville City FC’s starting lineup for a matinee match in Pittsburgh.
Kickoff at F.N.B. Stadium is set for 12 p.m. ET. The game will air nationally on CBS, with local radio coverage on ESPN Louisville’s 680 AM/105.7 FM. For streaming, the game will be available on Paramount+.
Duncan, who played the second half of last week’s Commonwealth Cup victory over Lexington, will be making his 11th start of the regular season. A typical midfielder, the Aussie will slot in today on the right wing. Duncan joins the attack with four goal contributions across all competitions on the year.
Duncan joins an attack duo that could be the hottest in the entire USL Championship: Jansen Wilson remains on the left wing, with Chris Donovan serving as the center forward.
Wilson is coming off a performance against LouCity’s rivalry win last week that saw him score two goals and tally an assist. The Elizabethtown, Ky., native leads Louisville in goals scored across all competitions with 10.
The player battling Wilson for the lead is his attacking partner Chris Donovan. Donovan, who will be playing in his home state of Pennsylvania, is coming off a stellar performance himself that saw him score in the first half. Donovan has a goal contribution in four straight matches, and is tied for the team lead with four assists in the regular season.
The midfield for LouCity remains intact with Taylor Davila starting on the left, and Kevon Lambert remaining on the right. Davila, the reigning USL Championship Player of the year, leads the boys in purple with 35 chances created. Today will be just the third regular season start of the season for Jamaican international Kevon Lambert.
The wingback duo also remains the same with Jake Morris on the left and Sam Gleadle patrolling the right. Morris played his second full 90 in three weeks versus Lexington, making it his eighth complete performance of 2026. Gleadle will be looking to build off a stellar performance against Lexington that saw him set up LouCity’s opening goal on a cross to Jansen Wilson.
Bird made one change to the back three as Amadou Dia rejoins the lineup. Dia has played against Pittsburgh 10 times in his decade long USL career, picking up an assist against the ‘Hounds in 2022. He replaces 17-year old Brandon Dayes, who will not be available for LouCity after being selected to the United States U-19 team, competing in the Concacaf U-20 Championship.
Dia will play on the left with Captain Kyle Adams in the middle, and Sean Totsch on the right. Combined, the trio has started 421 regular season matches in purple.
The starting lineup is rounded out by Danny Faundez in net. Today will be Faundez’s eighth regular season start of the year, one off the most he’s had in a season with Louisville, nine in 2022.
Seven players are available for selection off LouCity’s bench. LouCity academy product Carlos Moguel Jr. is available in a regular season match for the first time since June 13th. The other available substitutes are Hugo Fauroux, Manny Perez, Evan Davila, Ray Serrano, Mukwelle Akale, and Tola Showunmi.
