2020: A speedster on the wing, Ownby returns for his fourth year with the club.
2019: Ownby proved himself on a deep Louisville City front line, starting 20 games and ranking second on the roster in total shots. Ownby notched two assists in the postseason as the club advanced to the USL final.
2018: In his second season with LouCity, Ownby started 15 games and appeared in 26. After finishing the USL regular season without a goal, Ownby proved dangerous on the attacking side of the pitch in postseason play. He scored three goals in two playoff games on LouCity’s way to a championship.
2017: Ownby signed with the club January, then made 23 starts and logged 2,028 minutes played. He made an immediate impact with seven goals that placed him third on the team. Ownby also scored in three of LouCity’s four playoff games en route to its first USL title.
Before Louisville City: Ownby suited up for his hometown Richmond Kickers dating back to a 2013 stint while on loan from the Houston Dynamo, which selected him at No. 7 in the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft. Ownby, who made 29 appearances for the Dynamo, was also loaned out to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in 2014. The University of Virginia product started in 50 of his 72 career college games, totaling 21 goals and 10 assists. There, he was named to the Soccer America All-Freshman Second Team, NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region Second Team and to the ACC All-Tournament Team.
